A scooter lane may appear on Oktyabrsky Avenue.

      A meeting of the Road Safety Commission was held in the Kirov city administration. One of the key topics was the prevention of accidents involving electric scooter riders, including minors.

      It should be noted that since the beginning of the year, 12 traffic accidents involving personal mobility devices have been recorded in the city. In two cases, the vehicles were operated by teenagers under 16 years old.

      At the meeting, it was proposed to limit the areas where riding electric scooters is permitted, excluding locations without wide pedestrian zones. There was also an initiative to test a dedicated scooter lane on Oktyabrsky Prospekt. According to experts, the width of the boulevard makes it possible to apply markings and install appropriate signs.

      The issue of unauthorized scooter parking was also discussed. The Department of Urban Economy stated that a package of documents has already been prepared, allowing scooters to be sent to an impound lot if they are left outside specially designated areas.
