"All procedures were violated": Vorobyova on renaming streets

      During a break at the meeting on the renaming of streets, we managed to talk with Anastasia Vorobyeva, first secretary of the Kirov city branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and co-plaintiff in the street renaming case:

      "I probably won't express my expectations, because literally soon the issue of a quick change of shoes of the administration and a representative of the Duma should be raised.

      In the Duma, they believe that they rely on questionnaires, but now that we have analyzed all this... they don't have any tables, there are no addresses in the logs, who voted at all, there is no analytics, and there are a lot of stacks from other districts of the Kirov region. The administration did not explain this point in any way: why do we need to do this at all if we need to qualitatively analyze the opinion of the residents of the city of Kirov. We believe that all procedures, starting with the Council on Toponymy, have been violated.

      This judge has already ruled in favor of canceling the decisions on renaming in the Sloboda district. I don't want to guess which side the judge is on.

      Keep going. We have another trial tomorrow, but with different formulations and requirements. Let's see what they say about the other requirements. It's more about the powers of the City Duma: whether it even had the authority to make such a decision. I mentioned it, but the judge said no, because this is not the first meeting. At the first meeting, the pre-trial one, we discussed this, and the court decided that the Duma had the authority after all. I can't say how everything will go tomorrow, but roughly speaking, we don't have a choice, in any case, we'll have to continue discussing this topic.

      Kovaleva did not show up, Simakov was not there, but at least they watched the video recordings of how they respond. I don't want to be pessimistic. As it is, you have seen and heard everything for yourself."

      As a result, the court refused to satisfy the demands made by deputies Anastasia Vorobyova and Mikhail Kremlev to invalidate the decision of the Kirov City Duma.
