Wool cap instead of a cap: Interior Ministry staff updated their wardrobe
The Russian government has approved changes to uniforms and norms for the supply of clothing for Interior Ministry employees. The document amends the resolution of October 13, 2011 and concerns both the description of the form itself and the procedure for providing clothing in peacetime.
In accordance with the updated standards, new items have appeared in the staff's wardrobe. So, women will now be given woolen caps instead of caps, as well as boots instead of winter or demi—season boots with fur. Men, in turn, will receive lightweight dark blue trousers along with woolen ones.
The provision standards also include a demi-season jacket, a lightweight casual suit (in two sets), lightweight athletic shoes and trousers, as well as a kimono for physical training.
Later, the Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified that the kimono is not part of the daily uniform of police officers, but is intended exclusively for cadets and students of educational organizations when practicing combat techniques.
"Many media outlets, without understanding the contents of the resolution, made erroneous conclusions," said Interior Ministry spokeswoman Irina Volk. She stressed that the kimono will be used only as part of physical training and will be transferred to the ownership of cadets at the end of the period of wearing.
Clothing provision now also depends on climatic conditions: in regions with a cold climate, boots and boots with natural fur are provided, in hot ones — with artificial fur, while replacements are possible: for example, demi-season loafers can be obtained instead of winter boots and vice versa.
Recall that in 2024, changes were made to the uniform of the women of the Russian Guard: by decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, caps were replaced with hats in their daily and winter uniforms. The decision also became a part of updating the wardrobe of law enforcement agencies.
