
Markings, lights and sidewalks: fight against road accidents has been announced in the Kirov region
At a meeting of the commission on road safety, Sergey Lobanov, acting head of the Department of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Kirov region, said that the main types of accidents in the region are still collisions of vehicles, hitting pedestrians and exits from the road. The greatest severity of the consequences is characterized by accidents involving collisions of vehicles due to oncoming traffic.
At the moment, measures are being taken in the Kirov region to reduce accidents. This year, according to the Road Committee, it is planned to apply horizontal markings on the roads of the region for more than 5,000 km, of which 1,281 km are made with plastic. In addition, 139 damaged and missing road signs will be replaced on the roads.
An adjustable pedestrian crossing with a traffic light will be installed on the Kirov— Malmyzh —Vyatsky Polyany highway in the village of Kstinino, and an LED strip duplicating traffic light signals will be installed at an adjustable intersection located on 12 km of the Kirov— Strizhi—Orichi highway (turn to the village of Doronichi). Also, the installation of a traffic light is planned for 22 km of the highway "Southern bypass of Kirov — turn to the village of Shutovshchyna."
The government of the Kirov region added that it is planned to create lighting in 95 settlements through which regional and inter-municipal roads pass. The total length of the outdoor lighting system will be 139.57 km. A government contract has already been concluded, and the contractor has begun to develop the working documentation necessary for the installation of the lighting system.
On behalf of Governor Alexander Sokolov, it is planned to start work on lighting and sidewalks in the village of Bolshevik and the village of Suna.
