Kirov residents complained about a leaky suspension bridge over the Bistritsa river

      Residents of three villages — Studenets, Podbornye and Udalovshchina, located within the city of Kirov, appealed to the regional department of the ONF. According to local residents, there are no shops, social institutions, or jobs in their settlements. The nearest town where there are shops, pharmacies and some kind of work is the village of Strizhi. There people buy food and medicine, work, go to the railway station, from where they take the train to Kirov.

      Strizhi is located on the other bank of the Bistritsa River and it is possible to reach this village only by a single suspension bridge. The bridge was built and "suspended" back in the 80s of the last century. For many years, local residents have been monitoring its condition, but the years have taken their toll: the bridge has fallen into disrepair and is now in disrepair. It is dangerous to walk on the bridge: Its planks have rotted and are buckling under the weight of a person, and there are holes in some places on the bridge.

      Local residents told the activists of the Popular Front that there is no way to live without a bridge: in spring and autumn, the only road leading to villages through fields is eroded. Due to the lack of a road, buses do not go to them, and the nearest stop from which you can go to rasputitsa is four kilometers away, in Basharovo. There is another stop on the Pobedilovsky tract, and you need to walk about three kilometers to it. If there is no bridge, residents of the three villages will have to travel many kilometers to reach shops, pharmacies and social infrastructure.

      According to the community activists, earlier the villagers contacted the territorial administration of the Oktyabrsky district of Kirov. They were told that about 5 million rubles were needed to develop the design documentation for the overhaul of this bridge, but there was no money, they were allegedly looking for sources of financing.

      Meanwhile, local residents claim that the bridge has been transferred to municipal ownership, and in the Kirov city administration, activists of the ONF regional department were told that the bridge was unattended. "Even if this is the case, it is a violation on the part of the municipality. We will contact the prosecutor's office to conduct a check and find out where the truth is. If the bridge is accepted for balance, the city administration will be obliged to keep it in a safe condition for people," the regional department of the ONF reported.
