In Kotelnichsky district, a 68-year-old woman became a victim of online scams. She lost almost 6 million rubles, believing in the possibility of making money on stock trading.
In March, the pensioner responded to an online advertising offer that promised a quick and stable return on investment. She was contacted by "consultants" who communicated via messenger, gave instructions, helped register on the alleged exchange website and indicated where to transfer money.
The woman was regularly informed about the "profit", urged to continue to "invest" and even connected a "psychic" who allegedly felt her illness and advised her not to stop. Within two months, the pensioner transferred 5.98 million rubles.
It was only when the connection with the "consultants" was cut off that the woman realized that she had been deceived. A criminal case has been opened on the fact of fraud on a particularly large scale.
