Fines have been imposed in Russia for selling energy drinks to children
The State Duma has passed a law providing for administrative liability for the sale of non-alcoholic energy drinks to minors. This decision was a continuation of the previously imposed ban, which, according to parliamentarians, needed to strengthen penalties.
The reason for this step was cases of deterioration in children's health after consuming energy drinks. Recently, doctors have reported serious consequences, including the threat of cardiovascular diseases, blood sugar spikes, and even pre-stroke conditions.
Heavy fines are now provided for violating the ban. Individuals may face up to 50 thousand rubles, officials — up to 200 thousand rubles, legal entities — up to 500 thousand rubles.
