Deputies discussed the possibility of expanding Consumer cooperation

      At a meeting of the Kirov City Duma, the problem of congestion at the intersection of Lesnoy and Consumer Cooperation streets was raised. As the speaker explained, according to the results of the experts' departure, it was found that widening the road is impossible within the framework of the current maintenance: power lines, sewerage, communication lines and other underground utilities are interfering.

      For a full-fledged expansion, it is necessary to develop a project with engineering surveys and approvals. At the same time, as the deputies emphasized, multi-kilometer traffic jams are recorded daily in the area. "In the morning, cars have been parked all over Lesnaya Street with a turn to Consumer Cooperation — there is no end in sight. People stand for two hours," said one of the participants of the meeting.

      As a temporary solution, the traffic light mode has already been adjusted: in the morning, the green light on the Forest was increased by 10 seconds, and in the evening, a similar change was applied to Consumer Operations. The possibility of organizing a separate lane from an existing sidewalk is also being discussed. According to the deputies, this would minimize costs and partially relieve traffic.

      Some deputies even suggested removing the adjacent sections of the field for infrastructure needs, and the administration promised to provide information on how to solve the transport problem.

      The work of public transport in the conditions of a closed crossing in the Novovyatsky district was also discussed. Since the closure of the crossing, a transfer has been organized from buses No. 87, 52 and 46 to route No. 46a, which serves the 41st microdistrict. According to the speaker, there are no serious complaints from passengers, the situation is monitored daily.

      In addition, the authorities, together with the regional Ministry of Transport, are working on launching a non-stop route that will directly connect the 41st microdistrict with the center of Novovyatsk.

      The issue of extending bus route No. 16 was also discussed. After a commission examination, it turned out that the width of the road does not meet the standards, and the launch of transport is not yet possible.
