Russians expect short working weeks and double pay during the May holidays.

At the end of April and in May, Russians expect shorter working weeks, the lawyer said. hh.ru Olga Vladimirova. So, from April 28 to April 30, the working week will be three days. At the same time, on April 30, the working day will be reduced by one hour.

The Spring and Labor Day falls on Thursday, May 1st. Friday, May 2, will also be a day off — it will be postponed from January 4. This is followed by the usual weekend on May 3rd and 4th.

The second short week of May will be held from 5 to 7 May. May 8 will become a day off due to the postponement of the holiday from February 23. On May 9, Russians traditionally have a rest in honor of Victory Day. After the May holidays, there will be only 18 working days left in the month.

Short working weeks are also expected in June (from the 9th to the 11th) and in November (from the 5th to the 7th). There is a six-day work week ahead of the November long weekend. The year will end with a two-day working week on December 29 and 30.

The lawyer reminded that according to the law, work on holidays and weekends is paid at least twice the amount. This applies to all wage systems, including salary. However, you can only go to work during the May holidays by official order of the employer — self-employment does not give you the right to double pay.
