Silver carp released into ponds in Kirov Park
Today, on April 17, 500 carp fry each were released into the upper and lower ponds of the Kirov Park. According to the Kirov administration, the peculiarity of this type of fish is that it filters the water. The carp feeds on phytoplankton, which promotes the development of algae and plants in the water that litter reservoirs.
After two years, the fry will reach a weight of up to one kilogram and above, the maximum weight can be 5 kilograms. The administration also added that after repairs, fish were brought to the ponds more than once in 2024. Malkov was provided by an activist entrepreneur who, not for the first time, has been helping to fill reservoirs.
In total, almost 3 thousand pieces were released into the ponds. This is enough for the ecosystem to function properly. All the water layers are inhabited by fish: tench will live at the bottom, carp will live on the surface, and there are also white cupid and carp.
In October, 100 kilograms of fish were released into the upper pond near the Circus, and they were delivered to the reservoir in vegetable boxes without water. Read more here.
