Kirov region increases export of birch veneer to China
Since the beginning of the year, there has been a noticeable increase in exports of birch veneer from the Kirov region to the People's Republic of China. From January 1 to April 16, 26.8 thousand cubic meters of these products were exported from the region. This figure is 21% higher than the export volume for the same period in 2024, when 22.1 thousand cubic meters of birch veneer were shipped.
Control over exported timber products is carried out by the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration. All products undergo a thorough inspection. Thus, on April 16, the shipment of four shipments of birch veneer with a total volume of 158 cubic meters destined for China was monitored.
According to the results of laboratory tests, no quarantine pests were found in the supplied wood. Since the beginning of 2025, 680 phytosanitary certificates have been issued for all products exported, confirming their compliance with the safety requirements of the importing country.
