An apartment burned down because of an electronic cigarette in Kirov
On the evening of April 16, a fire broke out in an apartment on one of the floors of a multi-storey building in Kirov on Sovremennaya Street. The fire quickly went out on its own, but the room filled with smoke. The residents who returned home immediately called the fire department, but by the time they arrived, the Gorenje had already stopped.
According to preliminary data, as a result of the incident, a sofa and part of a wall with a total area of 7 m2 were burned, as well as property was blackened. Specialists of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, who examined the scene, found out that the cause of the fire was an electronic cigarette lying on upholstered furniture. The vape was not charging, and most likely, its battery caused a fire.
Firefighters remind that in order to prevent such incidents, the condition of the batteries of electronic devices should be closely monitored.
