
The State Duma has released volunteers with combat experience from military service
The State Duma of the Russian Federation has adopted a law exempting citizens who participated in combat operations as part of the volunteer formations of the Ministry of Defense from conscription. This is reported by Lenta.ru .
According to the approved amendment, Russians who have participated in combat for at least six months are exempt from service. In addition, for the entire period of being in the status of a volunteer, such citizens will be given a deferral from military service.
The law became part of the second reading of the draft concerning the execution of the draft decision during the year.
It is also reported that earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to develop a special conscription procedure for college graduates. The Head of State stressed the importance of creating conditions under which young professionals will be able to maintain and develop professional skills during their service, as well as maintain contact with employers.
