The roof of the three-storey house is in disrepair. During precipitation, water penetrates into the apartments on the upper floor through the ceiling — it flows from the chandeliers and flows down the walls. People are forced to put basins and buckets in order to escape from the flood.
The situation is especially difficult for elderly residents. An 80-year-old woman lives in one of the apartments. Due to the constant dampness, black mold has appeared in her house, and she suffers from a chronic cough. The ceiling tiles have collapsed, the linoleum is swollen, and the furniture is ruined. Other residents of the house have similar problems.
The problems are not limited to apartments. In the sixth entrance, water floods the landing during heavy rains, and the "waterfall" hits the electrical panel directly, creating a danger of a short circuit.
Residents have been seeking roof repairs from the management company for years. The organization was repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility and fined 375 thousand rubles. However, the situation has not changed.
In desperation, the residents turned to a direct line to the President of Russia. After that, the Popular Front intervened. According to Dmitry Sergeev, an expert of the organization, it was possible to achieve repairs only through the court. The writ of execution has now been sent to bailiffs. In case of inaction of the management company, bailiffs have the right to hire a contractor on their own and collect repair costs.
The problem of leaking roofs in the region is widespread. The President's direct line received about 70 such requests from the Kirov region. The reasons are not only the negligence of the management companies, but also problems with the Capital Repair Fund: poor quality of work and constant deadlines due to the lack of contractors.
The residents hope that now the process will get off the ground and their house will finally become safe to live in.
