Flood closed passage on 11 bridges in the Kirov region

      According to the regional government, according to the Kirov Hydrometeorological Center, as of April 7, some rivers in the region are still in winter mode. Ice flow is observed on the Vyatka River near the city of Slobodsky and on the Voya River. The rise in water levels on the rivers of the Kirov region to date has ranged from 1 cm (on the Vyatka River near the Kotelnich hydropost) to 59 cm (on the Vyatka River near the Arkul hydropost). No incidents have been recorded in connection with the passage of the flood.

      According to the regional government, due to flooding, communication was disrupted on 11 bridges in eight municipalities: in Afanasievo and Luza, Malmyzhsky, Zuyevsky, Kilmezsky, Sovetsky and Darovsky districts, as well as in Kirovo-Chepetsk. A supply of basic necessities, food and medicines has been created in all settlements with disrupted moost communication.

      The regional government reported that today, on April 7, traffic on the floating bridge over the Cheptsa River in the Karintorf microdistrict was stopped. There is a Karintorf outpatient clinic for medical care in the territory of the microdistrict. Fire safety is provided by the forces of the 24th Fire and Rescue unit. Transportation of people will be carried out by rail on a narrow-gauge railway according to the schedule. There is also a bypass road through the town of Slobodskoy.

      Officials are concerned about the flooding of the Oparino—Verkhnyaya Volmanga road section. The length of the flooded area is 12 meters, the water level above the roadway is 0.15 m. The passage of off-road vehicles is possible in the flooded area.
