The city administration told about the preparations for Victory Day

      The city organizing committee for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory told about the preparation of the city for the upcoming celebrations. Work is underway in Victory Park and on the Green Embankment, and the area around the eternal lights is being improved.: New stars will be installed there, and the bas-reliefs will be updated. The heads of the city's territorial administrations noted that contractors are fulfilling municipal contracts for the improvement of memorial areas on schedule.

      New memorial plaques are being prepared for installation at the Staromakaryevsky cemetery, and five tombstones on the graves of war heroes will be repaired. New lighting has been installed and connected at the Mezrin cemetery near the memorial. Kirov officials noted that the work should be monitored daily: all monuments should be put in order by May."It's not just about repairs. It is already worth starting cleaning up the territories as part of clean-up days, some monuments require washing and cleaning from dirt," said Elena Kovaleva, the head of the city of Kirov.

      In Pervomaisky district, seven monuments are being put in order under municipal contracts. In Novovyatsky, an Eternal Flame will be erected on Victory Square and the memorial area at the Rossiya Cultural Center will be renovated.

      The commission also noted that the approaches to the memorial sites should be improved by Victory Day. Under favorable weather conditions, dirt roads will be repaired on streets named after war heroes.

      The city administration also said that 90 events will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in Kirov. The main events will take place on May 9 at the Theater Square, including, for the first time, the parade of yunarmeytsev. In addition, by May, it is planned to decorate urban areas with banners and flags with Victory Day symbols.
