Kirov residents told us which TV series they prefer to watch.

      The Veterans of Russia movement has proposed banning the screening of Turkish TV series in the country, believing that they create high expectations for women from men, which allegedly reduces their interest in compatriots. However, the survey results show that the influence of Turkish TV series on the tastes of Russian women is exaggerated — the majority of viewers prefer domestic cinema.

      According to the survey, 40% of Kirov residents prefer Russian TV series. Every third person chooses American projects, while only 8% of respondents are interested in Turkish and British TV series. 6% of respondents like South Korean, 3% like Japanese, and only 1 out of 100 people watch Brazilian TV series. Other preferences include Chinese, Spanish, Canadian, and Scandinavian multi—series. At the same time, 18% of the survey participants said they did not watch TV shows at all.

      Men are more likely to choose American TV series, while women prefer Turkish and South Korean projects. The study also showed that as viewers age, they watch Russian TV series more often: 35% of young people under 35 choose them, and 47% of those over 45. On the contrary, interest in foreign cinema is higher among young respondents.
