Fraudsters began to deceive Russians with the help of self-locking loans
Remote scammers call Russians, introducing themselves to Public Service employees and saying that the ban on loans is incorrect, after which they claim that they need to click on the sent link to fix the situation. The latter, of course, turns out to be phishing. This is reported by the newspaper Kommersant.
After a person clicks on it, they automatically get to a site similar to Public Services, enter their login information, and then they get to the scammers. After gaining access to the account, the attackers can log into the bank's application and manage the accounts. In addition, a fake link to a Russian's phone may contain a virus program that can read text messages.
Recall that a new feature on the portal of Public Services — self-locking loans — became effective on March 1. Read more about it here.
