23% of applicants in Kirov face refusals due to "too high" qualifications

In Kirov, the issue of the impact of excessive qualifications on job seekers' chances of finding employment is increasingly being raised. According to a survey of the economically active population, 23% of Kirov residents have personally encountered a situation where they were denied a job due to "too high" qualifications.

Employers' attitudes towards overqualified candidates are ambiguous. Only 10% of companies reject such specialists on principle, believing that their skills may be superfluous for the proposed position. However, the majority (55%) prefer to evaluate each case individually, taking into account the candidate's experience and potential. The remaining 13% of organizations, on the contrary, often hire overqualified people, seeing this as an opportunity to strengthen the team with experienced personnel.

The study also revealed certain patterns. Men are more likely to be rejected due to overqualification than women. Applicants between the ages of 35 and 45 receive the most refusals. Interestingly, the income level also affects the probability of rejection: among Kirov residents with salaries up to 50,000 rubles, 17% faced a similar problem, while among those who earn from 100,000 rubles, it is already 29%.The district employment centers will merge into one. It is now known which specialists are the most needed in the region right now and how much they are paid. High-income employees are more likely to offer ideas for job optimization
