The Ministry of Transport explained the felling of trees in Pobedilovo
Earlier, we wrote that trees were cut down along the highway leading to Pobedilovo airport. This was announced by lawyer Yaroslav Mikhailov. According to him, the felling of trees took place on Sunday, March 9th.
According to Mikhailov, the trees were planted by the first residents of the neighborhood, members of the pilots' families, in 1971. "The trees did not interfere with anyone, did not pose a threat to either residents passing along the sidewalk, or power lines, were not dilapidated, but they interfered with someone," the lawyer wrote in his post.
The Ministry of Transport of the Kirov region told who needed to cut down the trees and why. "As part of the renovation of the road to Pobedilovo Airport, the project provides for the expansion of the bus shelter. To do this, 13 trees must be removed. All work has been agreed, and permits for harvesting birch trees have been received. No other logging is planned as part of the work," the ministry said.
Earlier, a tender was published on the public procurement portal to find a contractor to carry out major repairs to the airport entrance. According to the documentation, the contractor must carry out work on cutting down trees, uprooting stumps, dismantling old sidewalks, road signs and bus stops, as well as reconstruct and protect communications, install new sidewalks, bus stops and road signs, strengthen roadsides and dispose of construction waste.
The completion date is scheduled for July 15, 2025.
