In the Kirov region, the siren went off before the SMS alert about the UAV threat.
On Saturday around 7:30, SMS notifications from emergency services about a threat of an attack by UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) were sent to mobile devices of Kirov residents, indicating the phone number 112. At the same time, residents report that the sound signal in the Zonal area was recorded earlier than the message arrived. The siren worked for several minutes. According to eyewitnesses, the signal was not accompanied by a voice announcement of "Attention everyone!" — only a sound tone was heard without any verbal explanation. In other districts of the city — in the Southwest, Fileika, and the center — the signal, according to available information, was not heard. Passersby on the streets continued to move during the siren's sound, not changing their route and not stopping. Later, at 9:22, a summary was published on the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, stating that during the past night, air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 457 Ukrainian aircraft-type drones. The list of regions over which the attack was repelled includes Kirov Oblast along with Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kursk, Rostov, Saratov, Samara, Ulyanovsk, Oryol, Kaluga, Tula, Tambov regions, Krasnodar Krai, the Republic of Crimea, and the waters of the Black and Azov Seas.
