An event for early cancer detection will be held in the Nagorno district.
On Saturday, August 22, an event called "Oncopost" will take place in the Nagorsk district. From 08:00 to 14:00 (registration starts at 07:30), doctors of various specialties from Kirov will be receiving patients at the Nagorsk Central District Hospital. Everyone aged 18 and older will be able to undergo examinations.
The main goal of the event is to inform about the risk factors for oncological diseases and to conduct mass screening for malignant neoplasms in visual locations.
As part of the event, consultations with oncologists are planned: dermatologists, mammologists, urologists, ENT specialists, gynecologists, and a colorectal surgeon. Additionally, ultrasound diagnostics and mammography (for women over 40) will be conducted based on indications. The organizers plan to accept 300–400 people. Consultations are free, and no referral is required. Blood tests for tumor markers will not be conducted.
Specialists from the Kirov Clinical Diagnostic Center will carry out express blood tests for cholesterol and glucose, anthropometry, and if risk factors are identified, a consultation with a therapist will be provided.
Dentists from the Kirov Clinical Dental Center will examine the mucous membranes of the oral cavity, lips, and tongue for oncopathology. Autofluorescent stomatoscopy will also be performed — a procedure using a special device that takes 2–3 minutes. Normally, the mucosa has a green glow; in precancerous and cancerous conditions, areas remain dark.
Medical volunteers will provide information on the prevention of oncological diseases, a healthy lifestyle, and teach self-examination rules for the breasts.
