A fake businessman in Kirov received two years in a penal colony.
The Kirov District Court has sentenced a 41-year-old local resident in a fraud case. The man was found guilty of embezzling a large sum of money.
As established by the court, from October to December 2022, the Kirov resident offered a friend to invest 1.1 million rubles in the development of a construction business. However, he initially had no intention of fulfilling his promises.
After receiving the money, the man used it at his discretion. As a result, the victim suffered significant financial damage.
Before the sentence was handed down, the convicted man managed to partially compensate for the damage — he returned 310,000 rubles. The court ordered the remaining debt to be collected from him.
Ultimately, the man was sentenced to two years in prison to be served in a general regime correctional colony.
After reviewing the appeal, the sentence came into legal force.
