MegaFon tested the first Private 5G.
During testing, engineers designed and implemented the architecture for future Private 5G. The core and transport networks were configured, ensuring seamless interaction with the existing LTE infrastructure. Specialists worked on both the physical and logical construction: traffic routing, resource allocation, and reserving key components.
An important stage was the integration of new domestic stations with existing foreign-made base stations. This confirmed the possibility of seamless operation of heterogeneous equipment within a unified network and ensured continuity of communication. Additionally, the compatibility of software solutions was tested — telemetry and remote monitoring platforms, transport and logistics management. This approach guarantees that modernization will not disrupt or halt the operation of previously implemented technological systems — critical processes will continue to function within the specified parameters of communication quality.
The laboratory network was equipped with an additional system for monitoring key performance indicators, as well as a set of protective solutions. During the tests, engineers checked whether the necessary parameters for data transmission speed and signal delay would be maintained under such additional load. The results showed stable operation and compliance with the required values. This comprehensive cybersecurity solution allows private networks to meet the requirements for critical information infrastructure of level KII-1.
"MegaFon is systematically moving towards the implementation of 5G — and supports this work with real testing. Even before obtaining regulatory approvals, we are testing the 5G architecture on domestic base stations in our own laboratory. In laboratory conditions, we have completed a full cycle of working through different scenarios for changing generations of radio access. This allows us to guarantee our customers a smooth transition regardless of the initial composition of the infrastructure: it does not matter when and on what equipment pLTE was deployed, we have developed all options for its upgrade. On 'day zero', as soon as the necessary approvals are obtained, we will be able to start modernization according to the already tested scheme," noted Andrey Konstantinov, Director of Strategic Infrastructure Planning at MegaFon.
MegaFon will continue to develop the Private 5G direction. As new Russian telecom equipment becomes available, the operator will test it in the laboratory before implementing it in existing networks. This approach allows offering businesses ready, proven, and reliable solutions for the digitalization of production processes.

MegaFon tested the first Private 5G.
The operator conducted a test of the fifth-generation private network in its own telecommunications equipment laboratory. The project confirmed the readiness for a seamless transition of previously established LTE networks to 5G using domestic base stations — including in companies where there are increased requirements for reliability and information security.
