The prosecutor's office of the Lenin district of Kirov reported that the court found a 54-year-old local resident guilty of intentionally causing serious harm to health, resulting in the accidental death of a person. The tragedy occurred on the evening of August 6, 2025, at house No. 41 on Gorokhovsky Lane. According to the investigation, the man, while in a state of intoxication, came with an acquaintance to the apartment of a previously unknown pensioner. According to the convicted man, they wanted to help recover a monetary debt. However, a conflict occurred at the entrance to the apartment between the men. During the quarrel, the accused first struck the elderly man in the face and then continued to beat him. The injuries sustained turned out to be fatal. The court sentenced the Kirov resident to 9 years and 6 months of imprisonment. Later, the sentence was reviewed by the appellate court and left unchanged. The man will serve his sentence in a strict regime correctional colony. After the sentence came into legal force, he was sent to the place of serving his sentence under escort.
