New applications will be pre-installed for Russians in 2027.
The Russian government has approved a new list of Russian and Eurasian programs that manufacturers will be required to pre-install on certain types of equipment starting January 1, 2027. The most notable change is the inclusion of the "Alice AI" application in the list. It will replace the voice assistant "Marusya," which was previously included. Otherwise, the list for smartphones and tablets has hardly changed. It includes "Yandex.Browser," "Yandex with Alice," "Yandex.Maps," 2GIS, "Yandex.Disk," "Mail.ru Mail," "Max," "Zen," VK Video, "VKontakte," "Odnoklassniki," Mir Pay, "State Services," "MyOffice," the antivirus from "Kaspersky Lab," RuStore, the book service "LitRes," and the application "Honest Sign." For personal computers, the list is shorter. They will still be required to pre-install "Yandex.Browser," "MyOffice," and the antivirus from "Kaspersky Lab." The new government decree will come into effect on January 1, 2027. It applies to devices for which legislation provides for the mandatory pre-installation of domestic software.
