In Kirov, another case of remote fraud is being investigated. This time, the victim of the scammers was a 55-year-old man who wanted to order a foreign car from Europe.
As the police reported, about a month ago, the Kirov resident found a community in one of the messengers that offered services for delivering cars from Europe. He became interested in a crossover of a Czech brand and then contacted the company's representatives to discuss the purchase.
The interlocutors explained that a prepayment was necessary to formalize the deal. The man transferred 103,000 rubles to the specified account details. A few days later, he was informed that another payment was required — this time in the amount of 512,000 rubles. The Kirov resident complied with this demand as well.
However, he never received the promised car. A week after the second transfer, the seller's representatives stopped responding to messages and calls. Then the man realized that he had become a victim of fraud and contacted the police.
Based on the incident, investigators opened a criminal case under the article on large-scale fraud. Police officers are currently identifying the perpetrators.
