VK shares fell after the removal of apps from Google Play.
According to the newspaper "Vedomosti," by 13:37 Moscow time, VK shares were trading at 130 rubles, a decrease of 7.28% compared to the previous day's close. The minimum price for the day dropped to 129.2 rubles. At the close of trading on July 15, the company's shares were valued at 144.55 rubles, and the trading volume reached 3.06 billion rubles. Over the past year, VK shares have fallen by more than 60%.
It was previously reported that Google Play removed the VK apps and the MAX messenger. They cannot be downloaded through the store now, but already installed versions continue to work without restrictions. The company stated that the apps are available for download in other stores for Android, including RuStore, Huawei AppGallery, Samsung Galaxy Store, and Xiaomi GetApps. Users also continue to receive notifications about messages, events, and calls.
Earlier, in June, Apple unexpectedly removed the VK apps from the App Store. The company then called the American manufacturer's decision "unacceptable and unfounded."
Recall that it was also reported about the fall of Gazprom shares: the company's stock price dropped to a historical low below 84 rubles. The decline also affected the overall index of the Moscow Exchange.
