VK will sell the Russian app store RuStore to its developer.

According to "Kommersant," the deal involves transferring full control over RuStore. The company stated that the store's team will continue to develop the service, release updates, and ensure its operation for users, developers, and partners. Dmitry Pankrushev heads LLC "Many Applications" — the company that participated in the creation of RuStore. The app store was launched by VK in May 2022. RuStore is on the list of mandatory applications for pre-installation on devices imported into Russia. The requirement for its mandatory installation came into effect on September 1, 2025. The sale of the service comes against the backdrop of recent problems faced by Russian applications in foreign stores. In June, Apple unexpectedly removed several VK applications from the App Store, and later the MAX messenger app disappeared from the store. After that, the Federal Antimonopoly Service demanded that Apple eliminate possible discrimination against Russian developers. It was previously reported that VK applications and the MAX messenger had disappeared from Google Play. Later, it became known that other services of the company were also unavailable. The following apps disappeared from the app store: "VKontakte"; "Mail Mail"; "Mail Cloud"; "Zen"; "Classmates"; "VK Music"; "VK Messenger" and "VK Calls"; "VK Video" and "VK Video Live"; "VK Dating"; VK Admin; VK Play; VK Teams; "VK Mail"; "Yula"; "Marusya." At the same time, VK noted that already installed applications continue to operate normally without restrictions. Users of Android devices can download them through alternative stores, including RuStore, Huawei AppGallery, Samsung Galaxy Store, and Xiaomi GetApps. Additionally, at the end of June, Apple removed several VK applications from the App Store. After that, the Federal Antimonopoly Service demanded that the American company eliminate possible discrimination against Russian developers.
