The Ministry of Emergency Situations warned Kirov residents about thunderstorms, heavy rains, and hail on the evening of July 7.
The territorial administration of the city of Kirov for the Primorsky district informs residents of an operational report received from the Central Emergency Management Center of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Kirov region. The data source is the Kirov Central Geophysical Observatory — a branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "UPPER VOLGA HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL SERVICE."
According to the forecast, thunderstorms, heavy rains, and locally hail are expected in some areas of the Kirov region in the next hour, as well as in the evening and the first half of the night on July 7. During thunderstorms, meteorologists predict wind intensification with gusts of 18–23 meters per second.
In this regard, city authorities draw residents' attention to safety rules depending on their location. Residents are advised to stay away from power lines, trees, billboards, and any unsecured structures. It is also recommended to avoid shaky and unfinished buildings, as well as structures with unstable roofs.
Drivers and pedestrians are advised to be cautious on the roads. Those leaving their homes should close windows and disconnect electrical appliances. Swimming in water bodies is prohibited during thunderstorms. In the event of hail, citizens are urged not to leave shelters.
