14 minutes to warm up: how much time Kirov residents spend before the start of the workday
The SuperJob research service surveyed economically active residents of Kirov, working on the employer's territory, and found out how many minutes they need to start their immediate duties. The average figure for the city was 14 minutes.
At the same time, the breakdown by time intervals was uneven. 36% of respondents start working 5–10 minutes after arriving at their workplace. Another quarter of respondents (25%) manage to do so in 5 minutes or less, which effectively means almost immediate engagement. However, a significant portion of employees does not rush: 23% of Kirov residents spend 10 to 30 minutes preparing, 5% take half an hour to an hour, and 3% admitted that it takes them more than an hour before they begin active work.
The age breakdown showed a consistent trend: the older the respondents, the quicker they get to work. Survey participants under 35 years old spend an average of 15 minutes, while their colleagues aged 35 and older manage in 13 minutes. The proportion of those who engage within the first 5 minutes increases with age: among young people, it is 23%, among those aged 35–45, it is already 30%, and among workers over 45 years old, it is 34%.
High income, according to the study, also correlates with speed. Respondents earning over 150,000 rubles a month turned out to be the most focused: on average, they need only 12 minutes, and 35% of them start working almost immediately.
Significant differences were also recorded among professional groups. The absolute leaders in speed of "engagement" are call center operators, with an average result of 9 minutes. Logistics managers and economists spend 10 minutes, marketers, supply managers, and office managers take 11 minutes. Salespeople and teachers need more time — 17 minutes, nurses — 20 minutes. And at the bottom of the list are PR specialists, who on average require 22 minutes to get going.
