An abnormal cold may come to the Kirov region in the second half of July.
In the meteorological communities of Kirov, attention has been drawn to long-term data coming from the EC-AIFS model (developed by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts). The map of temperature anomalies on the isobaric surface of 850 hPa (about 1500 meters above sea level), published by the "Amateur Meteorology in Kirov" community, shows a contrasting picture for the second half of July.
Visual analysis indicates that the model forms a vast area with a negative anomaly over the Kirov region and adjacent territories. According to the color scale, in the center of this spot, the deviation from the climatic norm can reach from -16 to -24°C (in the most saturated purple areas — up to -28°C).
It is noteworthy that at the same time, Eastern Europe and the Ural region are colored in orange and red tones: significant overheating is forecasted there with an anomaly of up to +14°C. Such a sharp temperature contrast on the maps indicates the possible formation of blocking atmospheric processes, which could "lock" cold air over the northern part of the Volga Federal District for a long time.
At the same time, the meteorological community emphasizes: this scenario is preliminary. The forecast period that the model relies on is 342 hours (more than two weeks), which goes beyond the high-confidence zone. Models at such horizons often tend to "amplify" synoptic processes, and by the time the date arrives (July 18), the scale of the anomaly is usually adjusted towards moderation. However, the persistent repetition of this scenario in the EC-AIFS calculations over several days is a sufficient reason to monitor further updates to the forecasts.

An abnormal cold may come to the Kirov region in the second half of July.
The European forecasting model, operating on artificial intelligence algorithms, has issued an unconventional scenario for mid-July. According to EC-AIFS calculations, a vast area with extremely low indicators for this time of year may form over the Kirov region at an altitude of 1.5 km, while neighboring regions will be under the influence of powerful heat.
