The growth of Chepets has slowed down to three centimeters per day.
In Kirovo-Chepetsk, the flood situation remains, but its nature has noticeably changed. According to the city administration, in the morning, the level of the Cheptsa stopped at 109.87 meters on the Baltic height system. Over the past day, the river has risen by only 3 centimeters.
These figures are particularly indicative against the backdrop of the beginning of the week. Since July 1, the dynamics have been steadily decreasing: 30 cm, then 19 cm, then 8 cm, and finally 3 cm. This trend has been maintained for the fourth consecutive day, allowing for the conclusion that the peak of the flood has passed.
The press service of the Kirovo-Chepetsk administration reminds that the rise in water has led to the flooding of the stationary part of the floating bridge towards Karintorf. The crossing has been closed to traffic since June 24. However, the microdistrict has not been left without communication with the city — all functions for cargo delivery have been taken over by the narrow-gauge railway.
Daily trains carrying medicines, food, and other essential goods are dispatched along it. As noted by the city hall, there are no supply disruptions, the alternative route has been established and is operating normally.
Specialists continue round-the-clock monitoring of the water level. If the trend of slowing down continues, stabilization of the situation on the Cheptsa can be expected in the coming days.

The river continues to rise, but not with the same force as before — the daily increase has dropped from 30 to 3 cm. The flooded bridge at Karintorf is still closed, however, the narrow-gauge railway provides the neighborhood with everything it needs.
