In Kirov, postal and police employees saved a pensioner from losing nearly 200,000 rubles.
In Kirov, another fraud attempt against a pensioner was prevented. The victim could have been a 77-year-old local resident.
As the police reported, at first, an unknown person called the woman and informed her that a registered letter had allegedly arrived in her name. To receive the package, the caller asked her to dictate her SNILS number, which the pensioner did.
After some time, she received another call. This time, a man introduced himself as an employee of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service and claimed that fraudsters had allegedly gained access to her accounts and were transferring money to finance a "hostile state." To "save" her savings, the criminal convinced the woman to withdraw money and transfer it to a so-called safe account.
The pensioner withdrew 197,000 rubles from the bank and went to a post office to send the money according to the provided details. However, the postal employees suspected something was wrong and called the police.
Together, they managed to convince the woman that she was communicating with fraudsters. As a result, the money was saved.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. The police are currently identifying the criminals.
