In October-November 2022, residents of Syktyvkar and the village of Verkhoshizhemye, acting in collusion, carried out illegal logging of forest plantations in the territory of the Sredneivkinsky rural district forestry in the Kirov region. The damage caused amounted to more than 2.5 million rubles. In court, the men were found guilty under part 3 of article 260 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal logging of forest plantations on a particularly large scale). Taking into account the full compensation for material damage and other mitigating circumstances, the court imposed a fine of 200 thousand rubles on each of them.
