Vasnetsova, Galitsky, and Churin were awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen."
On June 18, the Legislative Assembly of the Kirov Region agreed to confer the title of "Honorary Citizen of the Kirov Region" to three local residents. They are Professor, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Co-Chair of the Vyatka Society Olga Vasnetsova, Honored Teacher of Russia, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Alexander Galitsky, and former head of the Department of Education of the Kirov Region Anatoly Churin.
No questions were raised by any of the deputies. Only Konstantin Russkikh decided to speak. He called Churin "the most worthy of men," who "has done an immeasurable amount for the education system of the Kirov Region."
During the secret ballot, Vasnetsova's candidacy was supported by 33 deputies, three voted against, and there were no abstentions. For Galitsky, the votes were distributed as follows: 34 in favor, one against, and one abstention. For Churin: 36 in favor, none against, and there were also no abstentions. As a result, they were all awarded the honorary title.
It should be noted that this title grants the right to free admission to cultural and mass events organized by the state authorities of the Kirov Region and local self-government. A one-time payment of 100,000 rubles and a monthly payment of 10,000 rubles are also assigned.
