The staff of kindergartens in Kirov will be reduced by 75 units.
At the meeting of the Duma commission, a representative from the education department reported on the staffing levels and personnel composition of municipal kindergartens and additional education institutions. In total, there are 141 and 6, respectively.
The kindergartens have 9,700 staff units, including 3,800 units for teachers, 259 units for leaders and their deputies, and 5,600 units for junior support staff. The staffing levels range from 23 units (in kindergarten No. 173) to 167 (in kindergarten No. 181).
Overall, the staffing level in kindergartens is 86%, including 90% for teachers and 91% for educators. The lowest figures are for music leaders and physical education instructors (72% and 86%). The staffing level for leaders and their deputies is 93%, and for junior support staff, it is 82%. Over the year, the overall staffing level increased by 2.2%, by 1.6% for teachers, and by 2.8% for junior support staff. This was facilitated by salary increases and the exemption of workers from fees for sending their children to kindergartens.
As for additional education institutions, the total staffing level is 927 units. There are 614 teachers, 71 leaders, and 241 other workers. The overall staffing level is 81%, with 85% for teachers, 73% for leaders, and 75% for other workers.
The speaker noted that the shortage of staff is being addressed through job sharing. On average, each worker in kindergartens and additional education institutions works more than one full-time position.
In 2026, following the recommendation of the Ministry of Education, it is planned to reduce the staffing level by 75 units in 50 Kirov kindergartens. In 17 kindergartens, it will increase by 15 units, and in 74, it will remain unchanged. Overall, kindergartens will lose 59 staff units or 0.6% of the total staffing level.
There will be no reductions in three additional education institutions. The issue is still being resolved at the Youth Creativity Center of Nevsky, the Children's Creativity House "Inspiration," and the Youth Creativity Center "First."
