A previously convicted resident of Nagorsk for drunk driving received two years in a strict regime.

      The Prosecutor's Office of the Nagorsky District of the Kirov Region achieved a guilty verdict against a local resident who once again broke the law while being intoxicated behind the wheel. The 30-year-old man was found guilty under part 2 of article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (driving a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction for the same offense).

      The events unfolded on the evening of January 31, 2026, on the roads of the village of Sinegorye. The defendant, showing signs of alcohol intoxication, was operating an ATV until he was stopped and removed from driving. This fact prompted an inspection.

      During the proceedings, it was revealed that the offender had already been held criminally liable for similar actions related to traffic violations and driving under the influence. This led to a more severe qualification of the case.

      The court, agreeing with the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the man to two years of imprisonment to be served in a strict regime correctional colony. Additionally, he was deprived of the right to drive any vehicles for three years.

      At the prosecutor's request, the court also applied article 104.1 of the Criminal Code regarding the confiscation of property. As a result, the ATV that the convicted individual was using was transferred to state ownership.
