Kirovstat showed who earns the most in the region.

      In January – March 2026, 347.9 thousand people were employed in Kirov organizations. This data reflects the headcount including small enterprises. The average monthly accrued salary over the three months increased by 12% year-on-year and reached 70 thousand rubles — such are the official figures from Kirovstat.

      Top five by number of employees

      The largest number of workers is concentrated in industry — manufacturing accounts for 25.6% of total employment. In education, it is 12.4%, and in healthcare and social services — 11.1%. Rounding out the top five are wholesale and retail trade with vehicle repair (10.4%) and public administration with military security and social welfare (9.2%). All other sectors do not exceed 6%.

      Who earns the most

      The absolute leader in salaries is the financial and insurance sector. Here, incomes are 40% higher than the regional average, which is about 98 thousand rubles. In second place are manufacturing industries with a 20% increase and an average salary of 84 thousand rubles.

      If we take a closer look at the industry, the picture becomes even more interesting. The highest pay is for workers in chemical production: 111 thousand rubles. This is 27 thousand more than the average in the manufacturing sector. Slightly behind are metal product manufacturers (106.7 thousand rubles), where the largest group of industrial workers is employed — 26% of total employment in the sector.

      Income outsiders

      Three sectors turned out to be outsiders: hotel and restaurant activities, administrative and ancillary services, as well as the provision of other types of services. In all three cases, salaries do not even reach three-quarters of the regional norm — only 72% of the average, which corresponds to approximately 50.4 thousand rubles.

      Internal contrasts in industry

      In the manufacturing sector, there is also a significant disparity between sub-sectors. In addition to chemists and metallurgists, the following are represented:

      food production — 71.6 thousand rubles (14% of those employed in the sector);

      wood processing and production of wooden products — 64.5 thousand rubles (11% of those employed).

      Thus, within one large industry, the difference between the highest-paid (chemicals) and the lowest-paid (wood processing) is 46.5 thousand rubles. Internships in Kirov: 70% of youth receive offers, but most only need experience. Colleagues' advice-2026: designers are called to be prompt engineers, and accountants are advised to stay. Space, scalpel, and epaulettes: what Russians dreamed of becoming in childhood.
