Fuel has disappeared at small gas stations in Kuban.

The problem arose due to a failure in the small wholesale purchasing system. Private gas stations purchase gasoline in small batches and do not have long-term contracts with suppliers. Because of this, even a slight increase in demand can lead to temporary fuel shortages.

There are more than a thousand gas stations operating in the region. About half of them are part of large networks of oil extraction and processing companies, while the others are private stations.

Due to the shortage, drivers have started to refuel more actively at large network gas stations, where gasoline is still available. The Operational Headquarters clarified that sometimes disruptions also occur at network stations: fuel deliveries are delayed due to a sharp increase in demand. However, such situations are usually resolved quickly — most often the problem is solved within a few hours.

Let us remind you that we previously reported similar difficulties in other regions. In Moscow and St. Petersburg, certain gas stations have imposed restrictions on the sale of gasoline "per person." Similar measures were previously in place in Crimea and Sevastopol.
