The Bank of Russia will change the procedure for calculating the euro exchange rate to the ruble.
Starting today, June 8, 2026, the regulator will calculate the official euro/ruble exchange rate based on the US dollar to ruble rate and the euro to US dollar rate from the European Central Bank as of 3:30 PM Moscow time on the current business day. This was reported by the press service of the Bank of Russia.
The change is related to low trading volumes for the euro/ruble currency pair in the domestic foreign exchange market. The Central Bank notes that this reduces the representativeness of the daily direct calculation of this rate based on actual conversion operations.
As for the dollar/ruble rate, it will continue to be calculated based on the reporting data of credit organizations regarding the results of concluded interbank conversion operations in the over-the-counter foreign exchange market.
