A drunk driving enthusiast was deprived of more than a million rubles.

      The Slobodskoy Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office of the Kirov Region supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a 48-year-old local resident. The man was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for driving a vehicle while intoxicated, having previously been subjected to administrative punishment.

      As established by the investigation, on October 8, 2025, the defendant was driving a "Mitsubishi Outlander" while intoxicated and was traveling on a highway in the city of Slobodskoy. He was stopped by traffic police officers and removed from driving the vehicle.

      It was revealed that the man had previously been held administratively liable for a similar offense—driving while intoxicated.

      The court agreed with the position of the state prosecutor and imposed a sentence: 240 hours of compulsory work and a two-year ban on driving vehicles.

      During the court hearing, the defendant stated that he had managed to sell the car to a third party—the vehicle was alienated to pay off a debt. However, considering the position of the prosecutor's office, the court applied the provisions of Articles 104.1 and 104.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation regarding the confiscation of property. As a result, a monetary amount of 1.3 million rubles will be transferred to state ownership—this is how much the sold car was worth.
