In the first month of the spring forest cultivation season, 6.5 million seedlings of pine and spruce have been planted in the Kirov region. The work has been carried out over an area of 2.2 thousand hectares, reported the regional Ministry of Forestry.
In total, in 2026, forest restoration will cover more than 5.4 thousand hectares of the forest fund of the Kirov region. According to the agency, the process is proceeding according to the calendar plan.
Large-scale work on the restoration of forest areas is part of the national project "Ecological Well-Being," initiated by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. The key goal of these activities is to ensure a complete balance between forest loss and reproduction.
Forest restoration plays an important role in maintaining the ecological balance of the region: new plantings will help strengthen the ecosystem, improve air quality, and preserve the biodiversity of the Kirov region.
