Prosecutor's Office of the Kirov Region: violations by the carrier were revealed after the bus fire.

      On the morning of April 13, 2026, on the route from the bus station towards the Pobedyilovo airport, in the area of the Lyangasovo microdistrict, a fire broke out in bus number 116. The source of the fire was located in the engine compartment. The driver and conductor organized the evacuation of passengers, avoiding casualties or injuries to civilians.

      The Prosecutor's Office of the Kirov Region conducted an inspection of the compliance with legislation in organizing passenger transportation. The preliminary investigation authorities did not find any signs of a crime as defined by Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Production, storage, transportation, or sale of goods and products, performance of work, or provision of services that do not meet safety requirements), and the initiation of a criminal case was denied.

      Nevertheless, the supervisory authority involved specialists from the technical supervision of the city traffic police in the inspection. Facts of violations by the bus carrier of the consolidated bus schedule were uncovered. The customer under the contract did not conduct the necessary claims work with the contractor. The Prosecutor's Office issued recommendations for eliminating the violations.

      Also, during the operation of several buses, facts of exceeding emissions of pollutants were identified. Administrative proceedings were initiated against the responsible individuals among the employees of the bus carrier under Article 8.23 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation.

      The consideration of the prosecutor's response acts has been taken under control, and the verification activities are ongoing.
