Kirov residents were told how to join the astronaut team.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Digital Development, this year the service for participating in the selection was launched in an online format for the first time. Interest in it has been high: to date, users have already created about 11,000 drafts of applications.
Most potential candidates are men. Their share is 76%, while women submitted 24% of applications. The youngest candidate for a place in the cosmonaut team is 19 years old, and the oldest is 35 years old.
Candidates must meet a number of requirements. In particular, citizens of Russia aged up to 35 years, with a height of 150 to 190 centimeters and a weight of 50 to 90 kilograms, are accepted into the team. Excellent health, high physical endurance, and psychological stability are also required.
In addition, candidates need a higher education level of specialist or master's degree in an approved list of specialties and at least three years of work experience in the profession. Knowledge of one of the foreign languages: English, Italian, Spanish, German, or French will be an additional advantage.
Candidates who successfully pass the remote selection stage will be invited to the Cosmonaut Training Center. There, they will undergo a medical examination, an interview, meet physical fitness standards, and confirm their level of professional knowledge.
