In the Kirov region, a verdict has been issued against a driver who did not learn from his first punishment for drunk driving. Now his personal vehicle has been confiscated — this became possible thanks to the prosecutor's petition.
As established in court, on the evening of October 8, 2025, the man was driving a VAZ-2107 on Proletarskaya Street in the city of Sosnovka. There, he was stopped by police officers. The driver showed clear signs of intoxication, so he was removed from driving.
Things got worse. During the data check, it turned out that this same person had already been caught for a similar violation. He had already been held administratively responsible for drunk driving. But the repeat offense turned out to be much more costly.
The Vyatskopolyansky inter-district prosecutor's office supported the state prosecution under Part 1 of Article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Driving a vehicle while intoxicated by a person who has been subjected to administrative punishment or has a criminal record). The court fully agreed with the prosecutor's position. The violator was sentenced to 240 hours of compulsory work and deprived of the right to drive vehicles for two years.
But the main financial blow — confiscation. At the prosecutor's request, the court applied Article 104.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The VAZ-2107 vehicle, on which the driver was detained, has been transferred to state ownership.
