In Kirovo-Chepetsk, plans are underway to open a dormitory for students of the sports school "Olympia." As reported by the press service of the Kirov region government, they intend to reconstruct the building of a former kindergarten for the accommodation of athletes. Currently, about 50 children from various districts of the Kirov region and other regions of the country are training at the school.
The topic of developing sports infrastructure was discussed during the visit of representatives from sports federations and businesses to the Kirov region. The conversation covered not only Kirovo-Chepetsk but also the development of digital-physical sports in the region.
It is worth noting that the first digital-physical center in Kirov was opened in early 2025 in the Chistye Prudy microdistrict. Another center is currently under construction in the city, which is referred to as one of the largest in Russia. According to regional authorities, the number of people engaged in digital-physical sports in the region has increased from 300 to nearly 1,200 over the course of a year.
Additionally, preparations continue in Kirov for the construction of a gymnastics and wrestling center. They plan to equip new halls for training and competitions there.
