ATVs, bridges, and evacuation: rescuers completed the route of the Velikoretsky Cross Procession up to the start.
The regional ministry of internal policy reported that the Kirov search and rescue team "Peresvet" has completed preparations for the Velikoretsky cross procession. The event will take place from June 3 to June 8, with pilgrims set to cover 180 kilometers from the Trifonov Monastery in Kirov to the village of Velikoretskoe. Rescuers will ensure the safety of believers throughout the entire route. According to the agency, 50 people and 12 units of special equipment have been mobilized from "Peresvet." The commander of the team, Pavel Klepikov, stated that the group on ATVs has already traveled the entire route of the column's movement. During the outing, rescuers identified potentially problematic areas, cleared fallen trees, and checked bridges over water bodies. Additionally, evacuation routes and algorithms for providing assistance have been developed for the team. These take into account the transportation of people through difficult terrain. Rescuers have also practiced mechanisms for interaction with medical personnel, emergency services, and law enforcement agencies. The Velikoretsky cross procession remains one of the longest in Russia. This year, the safety of pilgrims will be ensured by several structures in addition to the "Peresvet" team. The rescuers themselves will focus on those sections of the route where emergency service vehicles may face restrictions due to the terrain and forested areas.
