The actor of the Kirov Drama Theater has died.
"Sad news. The former actor of our theater, Alexey Shubnikov, has passed away," the theater group wrote on "VKontakte."
Alexey joined the theater when he was very young, still a student, then served in the army and returned to the stage. He played in "Grotesque" for many years, performing leading roles in various productions. One of his most iconic roles is considered to be Bal'zaminov by the theater.
Colleagues remembered him as a talented, thoughtful actor, a kind and emotional person, and a great friend. "And also, Lyosha loved Stephen King, Bulgakov, and loved to travel," the message states.
Since 2016, Alexey had not acted in the theater, but he always attended performances.
"It was very important for us to hear his opinion. It hurts to realize that we will no longer see him, neither as an actor nor as a spectator. It is frightening and strange to say the word 'was'... It seems like just yesterday we were leaving rehearsal and discussing what was happening on stage. And now he is gone," they write in "Grotesque."
He was only 44 years old.
The editorial team of Newsler.ru expresses sincere condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Alexey Shubnikov.
