From bell to bell: the school year has ended in the colonies of Kirov
In the institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Kirov region, solemn ceremonies were held to mark the end of the academic year. The graduating inmates were congratulated by educators and staff of the institutions, and the best students were awarded certificates.
As reported by the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service, there is one secondary school and 12 educational and consulting points operating within the correctional facilities. After completing their studies, graduates will have to take exams and receive state-issued diplomas.
The agency reminded that inmates under 30 years old are required to receive general education. Additionally, vocational training is organized in the colonies for those without a specialty. This is necessary both for work within the correctional facility and for further adaptation after release.
The Federal Penitentiary Service noted that education helps inmates acquire new knowledge, master a profession, and reintegrate into life outside.
